CLEMENTON
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER….
At
CES, the school day ends at 3:15 PM, but that doesn’t mean that students head
for home right away. Many students stay for after school activities. Here is a
sample of the activities CES has to offer:
|
Band AND CHOIR
The instrumental
music program is so popular in Clementon that one band is not enough;
there are three. Also, CES has two Choir Groups consisting of 4th
and 5th graders and 6th - 8th graders. Band and Choir members
practice after school from 3:15 – 4:00 PM. Contact Ms. Mitchell,
Ext.3103 or Mr. Mazzocca, Ext. 3105, for more information.
|
National Junior Honor Society
Even if your
child is in preschool or kindergarten, I encourage you to get more
information about this club from the school website. Membership is
truly an honor and it is never too young to start developing the
leadership qualities that are recognized by this organization.
Members meet routinely after school to plan community service projects.
Contact Mrs. Bare, Ext. 5106, for details.

|
Camp Clementon
This program
offers the best of camping activities, minus the tents and sleeping bags.
Students play games, complete art activities, do homework, have a snack,
and use the computer to name just of few of the activities offered. The
program runs after school Monday through Friday from 3:15 – 6:00 PM.
Contact Mrs. Teschner, Ext.1020, for information on fees and requirements.
|
Cheerleading
The cheerleading
squad practices after school and attends basketball games to support
Clementon students. The squad also hosts pep rallies and middle school
spirit activities. Mrs. Palermo, Ext. 5107, has all the details. |
|
Safety Patrol
Sixth grade
students are eligible to provide community service by manning posts to
help younger students walk home from school safely. Aspiring members
should contact Mrs. Murray, Ext.1010.
|
Student Council
Future leaders
of America, here is your starting point. Students in grades 6, 7, & 8
provide leadership for their peers and complete community service
projects. They meet periodically after school. Contact Mrs.
Tropp, Ext.4105, for more details.
|
|
Art CLUB
Talented
students and aspiring talented students in art are encouraged to join this
club. Please contact Mrs. Dougherty, Ext. 2208, for more information.
|
Peer Mediators
Conflicts are no
match for our peer mediators. This highly trained group of students work
with their peers to resolve conflicts peacefully. Conflict resolutions
are held during the school day, but the students meet periodically after
school for updates. Please see Mrs. Breon, Ext.1021, for more
information.
|
|
Yearbook
The
yearbook club produces the middle school yearbook. Artists,
photographers, and editors are encouraged to contact Mrs. Haldeman
at Ext.5101.
|
Community Education
These activities
(available for a nominal fee) are advertised in a flyer that is mailed out
twice yearly. Past activities have included arts and crafts, board games,
computer fun, floor hockey, needleworks, science club, and scrap booking.
Keep an eye out for the fall and/or spring flyer, and contact Mrs. Teschner, Ext.1020, for
more information.

There is something for
everyone after school. While some of these programs are limited to
middle school students, parents of younger students are encouraged to
contact the coordinators and coaches for details so you can encourage
your child to take advantage of these excellent programs in the future.
