Miss
Levine’s Summer News

I hope everyone has a healthy and happy summer. This year went by so fast it is
hard to believe it is already summer time. I really enjoyed working with you and
your child this year. Have a wonderful vacation.

Please continue to read as much as possible over the summer. If you are away on
vacation have your child read postcards, menus, signs at museums. Write a
letter to a friend who is still at home. If you are at the beach try writing
words in the sand or just relax and have your child read you a book.
On June 22, we will have an end of the year beach day. (In the classroom of
course.)
Activities will include:
Fishing- you must be able to put words in abc
order for this. A spelling
Beach Ball Game-
you need to know your second grade spelling words.
Reading by the beach with
the Bernstein Bears.
Sit with a friend on a beach towel and read with a Bernstein Bear character.
Play rainbow fish
memory after reading a sight word. Lastly
enjoy eating goldfish crackers and making up your own word problem with them.
Just remember they cannot be eaten until your word problem is checked. Remember
your beach towel.

To
my new Students:
I am looking forward to
meeting you.
It is important to know all your sight words from first grade. Writing your
numbers and addition facts up to 18 are also important to know. We write a lot
of stories in second grade so practice writing some things you had fun doing
over the summer.
The school is closed for the summer so all voicemail messages left after June
22nd will be returned in September.
Have a safe and wonderful summer.
